Our Sessions

The Approach

  • Floortime is child-led.
This means we follow the child’s lead—joining them in their world rather than directing or controlling their play. From there, we gently encourage interaction, communication and shared problem-solving.

    It is fun and motivating.
Sessions are based around interests, play and enjoyment, helping children stay engaged and willing to connect.

    What Floortime supports:

    • Attention and engagement

    • Sensory needs and regulation

    • Communication and interaction skills

    • Emotional understanding

    • Problem-solving and life skills

    • Flexible thinking and social relationships

    Every child is unique.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Each session is tailored to the child’s developmental level, strengths, needs and interests. We recognise that every child learns, communicates and connects differently—and we adapt to them..

What Happens?

  • Each session includes a balance of child-led play and structured group activities. This allows children and young people to explore freely while also practising shared attention, communication and teamwork.

    Activities may include:

    • Sensory play

    • Arts and crafts

    • Construction toys and games

    • Imaginative and role play

    • Board games and puzzles

    Group activities can involve:

    • Parachute games

    • Obstacle courses

    • Baking or making simple treats

    • Team games and collaborative challenges

    Themed sessions:
We love a celebration! For occasions such as Christmas, Halloween, Easter and birthdays, we go all out with themed activities, decorations and games.

    For teenagers:
Sessions are more age-appropriate and may take place in the community. We might visit a café, go to the shops, spend time outdoors, or even go train spotting—depending on interests and goals
